Miroji is a dance/electro-pop duo from Canberra, made up of Gogo (vocals) and George (production). With five singles and an EP titled 'Where You're Wrong' under their belt, Miroji's new single ‘Empty Air’ is a further venture into EDM. Their dance tracks have been described as a ‘hot blooded and pulsating with electric chemistry’.
Taking influence from Flight Facilities, Flume, Safia, Glass Animals, AlunaGeorge, and Sofi Tukker, the duo work from a bedroom studio...mostly procrastinating study. As a producer, George, says he likes taking elements from different genres, using a strong hip hop influence for his beats but an indie-pop style for synths, sampling, and instrument arrangement. He likes to make "the music I want to listen to while gaming". Gogo uses her 'melancholy folkish' vocals and layered harmonies to tell poetic stories of travel, love, and longing.
With their first two debut singles picked up by Melbourne record label 'Best & Fairest', Miroji's tracks have been described by reviewers as 'black magic', 'turbo gems', 'lush pop' and 'sprawling epics' that eschew normal pop structures and aren't afraid to turn in surprising directions.
